International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach spoke out on the issue of allowing transgender athletes to compete.
Our principles are that everyone should have access to sport without discrimination. When we talk about competitions, the mission of those in charge is to make them fair.
We recommend that all international federations follow two procedures: talk to everyone involved with women, transsexuals, human rights experts, scientists, doctors and, based on science, decide where fair play ends and begins, " Bach said.
